Former Special Ed Student Turned Award-Winning Speaker Launches New Curriculum for Urban Schools

Brad Butler II, a former Special Ed student who has transformed his life and achieved a Master’s Degree in Counseling, is now making waves as a multi-award-winning speaker, author, and student retention specialist. With his powerful message, “Hope is my Superpower,” Butler is on a mission to empower Black and brown students across the country by helping them shift to a mindset that supports their success.

Studies have shown that a significant number of high school and university students experience negative emotions such as boredom, anger, sadness, fear, or stress during their educational journey. Recognizing this alarming trend, Butler aims to equip students with a sense of hope, which has been proven to enhance self-esteem, social skills, goal-setting abilities, and resilience in the face of adversity.

Over the past decade, through his captivating keynote presentations, interactive workshops, compelling books, and now a groundbreaking curriculum, Butler has impacted the lives of thousands. His unique personal experience of struggling academically in special education classes while overcoming obstacles as a college student gives him a competitive advantage in connecting with students and educators alike.

“I help students bridge the gap between their dreams and their education, while also helping educators connect with the hearts and minds of their students,” says Butler. With a Master’s Degree in Counseling and expertise in effective communication and social-emotional learning (SEL), Butler incorporates these essential elements into his presentations, empowering students to increase their emotional intelligence (EQ) and adversity quotient (AQ).

Now, Butler is set to take his mission to new heights with the launch of a groundbreaking curriculum tailored specifically for urban schools. This curriculum aims to inspire, motivate, and provide practical tools for students to develop an empowered mindset, setting them on the path to success.
