Mario Bailey, a 31-year-old Jamaican-born entrepreneur, software engineer, Air Force veteran, and University of Vermont graduate, has launched BlackHealth.org, a new online platform designed to help patients find Black doctors, Black-owned healthcare providers, and culturally competent medical professionals across the United States.
The platform arrives during a time of increased legal and political scrutiny around diversity-focused healthcare initiatives, including a discrimination lawsuit filed by a White doctor challenging similar programs. Yet supporters say resources like www.BlackHealth.org remain essential as Black families continue to face serious healthcare disparities, including higher maternal mortality rates, delayed diagnoses, unequal treatment access, and lower life expectancy.
Bailey created the platform to make it easier for Black patients and families to connect with trusted physicians, specialists, dentists, therapists, clinics, and healthcare organizations that understand their cultural experiences and medical concerns. The directory is also designed to support providers who want greater visibility within the communities they serve.
“We built this platform because representation in healthcare is not just a diversity metric — it is directly tied to patient outcomes,” Bailey said. “Black communities deserve access to providers and healthcare organizations that understand their lived experiences, concerns, and cultural realities.”
In addition to its provider directory, BlackHealth.org includes a robust career center connecting Black healthcare professionals with hospitals, clinics, nonprofits, and organizations seeking diverse medical talent. Opportunities may include residencies, fellowships, clinical roles, administrative positions, and executive leadership openings.

As an immigrant from Jamaica, Bailey says he understands the challenges many skilled professionals face when trying to build networks, find opportunities, and gain visibility in the U.S. healthcare system. Through technology, he hopes to close gaps between patients, providers, employers, and underserved communities.
Bailey currently serves as Chief Technology Officer for Black Health, where he oversees the platform’s infrastructure, security, and performance.
