Black-Owned Tech Company Go Black Own Expands TapBlk With AI, Business Discovery, Networking and Relationship-Building Tools
TapBlk is entering its next chapter with an ambitious goal: turn online introductions into meaningful professional relationships, business opportunities and community connections.
Black-owned technology company Go Black Own, LLC has announced the relaunch of TapBlk, an all-in-one social networking app developed to connect Black professionals, entrepreneurs, creators, Black-owned businesses and supporters within one digital ecosystem.
The platform moves beyond the traditional digital business card by combining social networking, professional discovery, business visibility, events, messaging, artificial intelligence and customer relationship management tools. The idea is to give members a way to move from discovering someone to connecting, exchanging information and following up without relying on multiple disconnected platforms.
From Digital Discovery to Real Relationships
TapBlk was refined alongside its earliest members and is designed around what happens after people discover one another.
Founder and CEO Kyle D. Amaker says many mainstream platforms excel at generating views, likes and followers but do not necessarily help users transform that attention into lasting relationships.
“On most platforms, you’re renting attention,” Amaker said. “You get the views, the likes, the follows — and none of it turns into a real relationship. We wanted to build around what happens after the attention.”
That philosophy influences TapBlk’s design. Rather than emphasizing public popularity metrics, the platform does not publicly display follower, view or reaction counts. Members can “Show Love” to content without creating a public tally, while private Insights allow individuals to measure their own activity, connections and growth.
One Platform, Multiple Business Tools
TapBlk combines capabilities that users might otherwise access through several different applications.
TapIn gives members up to 60 seconds of video to introduce themselves and share what they are building, offering or seeking. Unity groups organize connections around states, industries and shared interests, while TapBlk Connect supports instant in-person member exchanges.
Public profiles provide personalized TapBlk links, while separate business profiles allow Black-owned companies to establish dedicated identities that users can discover, save, recommend and support.
Members can also post hiring opportunities, request services, exchange direct and group messages and discover community events.
The platform includes digital business cards for Apple and Google Wallet, along with QR generation, short links, email signatures, vCards and a paper business-card scanner.
AI Meets Relationship Management
Artificial intelligence is also part of TapBlk’s expanded approach.
Onyx and AI Notes are designed to help members preserve information about the people they meet, recall relationship context and draft personalized follow-up communications.
A lightweight built-in CRM allows members to organize contacts and manage relationships created through the platform.
That combination reflects an increasingly important challenge for professionals: making a connection is only the first step. Remembering who someone is, why the relationship matters and when to reconnect can determine whether an introduction develops into an opportunity.
Built for Entrepreneurs—and the People Who Support Them
TapBlk isn’t exclusively for business owners.
The platform is designed for entrepreneurs and professionals seeking opportunities as well as consumers and supporters looking to discover, hire, recommend and support Black-owned companies and professionals.
Members can find local services, recommend businesses, share employment opportunities, attend events or introduce people within their networks.
“Black entrepreneurs aren’t short on hustle. We’re short on access,” Amaker said. “The tools we’ve been handed — social media, generic networking apps — are built to farm attention, not build relationships.”
That distinction sits at the center of TapBlk’s positioning: “The Platform Built for Us. Empowered by Us.”
Black-Owned Technology Building Its Own Infrastructure
Go Black Own has self-funded TapBlk since its inception without outside investors.
Founded on June 20, 2020, the company operates as GoBlackly OS and focuses on expanding access to technology, professional relationships and business opportunities.
Its technology ecosystem now includes TapBlk as its flagship social networking platform and GoBlackly OS, an AI and business systems platform intended to help Black-owned businesses improve marketing, operations and growth.
Amaker is also the author of AI for Black-Owned Businesses: From Hustle Mode to AI-Powered Systems. His earlier work through Go Black Own has also received national media exposure, including a technology segment on Roland Martin Unfiltered.
“This is bigger than an app,” Amaker said. “It’s about giving our community a place where finding each other is only the beginning. The real value is what those relationships can become.”
