“Growing up as a kid in the hood my pops always used to say, ‘be the light in the darkness around you.’ I always used to brush it off until I got older and really realized what he meant,” Nige reveals regarding the inspiration of “War in the Trenches.” “Making this song is me trying to do exactly that: ‘be the light’ in the darkness of all our lives.”
